Dear Vilhelm Bjerke-Petersen,

I am writing to you on behalf of the Artists International Association to ask if you could send to the exhibition which is to be held in April, about eight paintings by Danish surrealists. I am organising the surrealist section of the exhibition and hope to have contributions from France, Belgium, Sweden, Germany (Germans in Paris) and Spain, naturally I wish to add Denmark to these and I would have written to you before but the official forms have only reached me today. I heard from Stellan Mörner that you had already heard of the exhibition from another source and I gather you will be willing to participate. Unfortunately as the exhibition is being arranged on different lines to the Surrealist Exhibition last year, we are obliged to ask foreing contributors to pay

the expenses of transport when ever possible. The A.I.A. is not a rich organisation and we wish to make an appeal to a very large public by charging a very small entrance fee. I enclose a description of the exhibition such as is sent to British artists and in which there are certain details which do not apply to you.

Would you kindly fill in the "sending-in Forms" and return them to the secretary.

I shall be very interested to hear of your activities as a group and in exchange will send you a copy of the bulletin which we are bringing out for the exhibition.

Sincerely yours.

Roland Penrose.
